Dugdale Brothers Fearnought
Fearnought is one of Dugdale's oldest cloths, first woven in the early 1900s as their first cloth made entirely from Australian merino wool. It is a stout, full-bodied wool with a warm, substantial handle, finished with techniques exclusive to Dugdale and rested in the cold, damp air of their Huddersfield mill. At 500 g it is a true heavyweight, built for the coldest months and for suits meant to last. The patterns lean traditional: houndstooth, marle twill, tramline stripe and windowpane, in blues and greys with the occasional touch of red or gold.
A cloth with this much body is well suited to full canvas construction. Each suit is drafted to your proportions, fully canvassed and handmade by one master tailor from start to finish, for clients of all gender identities. Book a fitting at our Chelsea atelier to see the cloths in person.
