Dugdale Brothers Tropical Breeze High Twist

I know I know it says tropical in the title, but this is truly four season suiting cloth. It’s one of Melissa’s very favorite weaves. Tropical Breeze is Dugdale’s high twist wool, the cloth they developed in the 1960s for the heat of Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. The yarn is highly twisted, and a proprietary finish cleans the surface of all loose hair. The result is a light, clean cloth that breathes, resists creasing and still drapes beautifully. Our chocolate melange spins brown and black yarns together, so the color moves in the light instead of sitting flat. At 290 g it works across four seasons, breathable through a warm September and substantial enough to carry into February. It’s the cloth we reach for ourselves. The range also runs through plain shades, stripes and checks, from chestnut brown and forest green to glencheck and windowpane.
