Your (Custom) Zoom Button Down Shirt
The thing is, our custom shirts are the best fitting and feeling custom shirts money can buy. We've recently written about our process for making these shirts, but we thought we'd post on how it feels to actually wear our custom shirts on a consistent basis, now that we've had plenty of first hand experience doing so. What we can confidently say is that there is no better 'work from home' and / or 'zoom call' attire on the market.
We made three shirts recently and started the process of wearing them around the house day in and day out. We wanted to see whether the product we're championing stacks up over time. Experience is the best research!
We made one charcoal flanella melange 70 herringbone; one stripe super chambray; and one stripe duke seasonal. All pictured in order below.
What we can honestly say about both the charcoal and the striped chambray is that they're two of the most comfortable shirts we've ever worn. The charcoal is like wearing the most lightweight and luxurious pajamas imaginable. The fabric is so soft and light, and it drapes perfectly. It's not one of those shirts that feel fantastic in the store, only to grow increasingly uncomfortable and sweaty the more you wear it either. The lightweight luxurious fine cotton stays endlessly comfortable and breathable. Because there is no poly blend to it. It's 100% cotton from Albini, and in our experience, their cotton is some of the best shirting cottons in the world. This shirt is the ideal summer shirt. Put it on and you'll want a hundred more just like it.
The stripe chambray is a very similar situation. The shirt is a little more coarse than the charcoal. But it's by no means uncomfortable in any way; it merely has an element of texture to the touch. Again, this shirt is much like wearing pajamas. The fabric is sumptuous and lightweight - albeit not quite as lightweight as the charcoal. It's the perfect summer-at-the-beach shirt, that is if your aim is to remain effortlessly stylish and chic at the beach ;)
We'd say that the Duke Seasonal is a little more of a formal wearing shirt, more of a classic business shirt. It's slick and clean, and the super-long staple cotton does actually make it resistant to repeated washes. It's nonetheless a very comfortable and classic wearing shirt.
So that's our brief rundown on the Watson Ellis custom shirt-wearing experience.
