Say I do to A vegan wedding suit or tuxedo

At Watson Ellis we offer a range of vegan suiting and tuxedo options. In other words, with us you can easily design a cruelty-free garment for your wedding.

The world of custom suiting can be confusing, and not just because of the dizzying amount of fabrics typically on offer. As an ethical shopper you also need to pay attention to your trims and the garment's construction. Experience the epitome of ethical luxury with our range of custom vegan suits and tuxedos perfect for your wedding day or other formal event.

While the majority of high end suits are made with wool or wool blends, these aren't the only fabric choices. We'd love to introduce you to vegan-friendly bamboo, linen, and cotton.

BAMBOO SUITS

Bamboo is often likened to silk or cashmere due to its silky softness and luster. It's even kind to the skin -- thanks to a natural bio-agent called Bamboo Kun -- that wards away pests and allows the plant to grow without the need for pesticides and harmful chemicals. Bamboo Kun is also anti-fungal and lends this property to the final cloth, which combats odors. Not only vegans, but those with sensitive skin will love what this fabric has to offer!

The bamboo we tailor with is made in Italy and is ideal for year-round wear. It comes in a wide range of colors and patterns suitable for your wedding day.

LINEN SUITS

We like to say "100% linen, 100% guaranteed to wrinkle." But this can lend a casualness or ease to your wedding day, sort of an old world Mediterranean vibe. For FW 2023 even Ralph Lauren is experimenting with linen tuxedos to a high-fashion effect. For the right client, this could be the right vegan fabric.

Linen is made from flax and has been for at least 4,000 years. The fiber is quite strong and excels in warm, humid climates, making it perfect for summer or early-fall events.

COTTON SUITS

You're probably familiar with cotton fabrics already from your everyday wardrobe. There are plain weaves, twill weaves, stretch and non-stretch varieties that lend nicely to suiting. What might surprise you is that velvet is often made from cotton, and might be just what the stylish vegan wedding-person needs. Velvet comes in a range of opulent and lustrous colors often with stretch. Embrace it for your wedding look as it's not every day that you can drape yourself in velvet!

VEGAN TRIMMING

After you find the right vegan fabric for your attire it's important to pay attention to the interior of your garment. The canvas in most suiting contains horsehair and more wool, and the buttons are often horn or horn-powder. Beware of silk satin tuxedo trimmings, too!

At Watson Ellis we offer synthetic canvas options (think: hemp and nylon) and corozo, or high-end plastic buttons. Our linings are bemberg rayon of the highest quality, so you don't need to compromise at any level. We source a wonderful silk-look satin for tux trimmings, so inside and out your garment meets your principles.

Congratulations on your wedding! Look no further for your vegan wedding tuxedo or vegan wedding suit.
